Mac Ventures will receive support from Yeshiva University business school students, making early-stage investments in a number of tech-oriented sectors.

A $10m early-stage venture fund has been formed by Yeshiva University graduates to train up students at the institution’s business school, the Jerusalem Post reported yesterday. Dubbed Mac Ventures, the vehicle will receive administrative support from honours students at the Sy Syms School of Business, although it will have a professional management team autonomous of the university. The fund will concentrate on deals in North America and Israel, targeting businesses in technology-led areas such as software-as-a-service, fintech, property tech, cybersecurity and digital health. In addition to funding, Mac Ventures investees will be put in touch with the university’s 60,000-strong alumni network, including graduates of the school now situated in Israel. Mac Ventures’ investment team is headed by angel investor Moshe Bellows and Bruce Taragin, managing director of venture firm Blumberg Capital, both Yeshiva University alumni who currently take lectures at Sy Syms School of Business.
