Propel Dayton is a three-phase accelerator targeting pre-spinout concepts leveraging University of Dayton's intellectual property.

University of Dayton has announced it will form a new spinout-focused accelerator funded by an undisclosed philanthropist linked to the university.
The accelerator, Propel Dayton, will assist both faculty and entrepreneurs building businesses on University of Dayton-licensed technology. The university’s research focus spans areas such as advanced materials, green technology, anti-corrosion products and image-based analytics.
University of Dayton said it is conducting more than $2bn in sponsored research through its institute and other initiatives. Propel Dayton is a response to calls from the university’s management to weave innovation and entrepreneurship into the fabric of its academic culture.
The accelerator will provide coaching and networking across three phases: exploring commercial opportunities, pre-accelerator activities and the incorporation of new spinouts.
Propel Dayton will start with a “soft launch” but may be expanded in future to include a pitch deck as well as further resources and networking opportunities.
