Stanford University is joined by Oak Investment Partners and New Enterprise Associates backing the driving intelligence company.

Stanford University has helped SmartDrive Systems, a driving intelligence company, raise $47m.
Other investors in the round were SmartDrive’s existing investors, venture firms Oak Investment Partners and New Enterprise Associates.
Last year SmartDrive raised $10.1m of a planned $11.5m fundraising, according to a filing with US regulator the Securities and Exchange Commission.
In 2009 SmartDrive raised $25m in funding and named Dave Vucina as chairman. Vucina was previously the CEO of Wayport, a venture-backed wireless company…
