Regional TTO Satt AxLR has joined forces with University of Reunion Island to evaluate the latter's commercialisation opportunities.

Regional tech transfer office Satt AxLR has struck a partnership agreement with University of Reunion Island to help commercialise the latter’s emerging technologies.
Situated in the Indian Ocean some 950 kilometres from Madagascar, Reunion remains an overseas department of France.
The university was founded in 1982 and is the only French-language institution in the Indian Ocean region. Its research focus includes areas of local concern, such as tropical biosafety, climate change and regional social studies.
The new deal allows Satt AxLR to evaluate and mature concepts brought forward by University of Reunion Island researchers.
Some of Satt AxLR’s member institutions already operate on the island, conducting tropics-related research in fields including agronomy, health and the environment.
Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Montpellier, Satt AxLR is one of 13 regional satellites in France’s Réseau Satt tech transfer network.
The unit focuses on the Mediterranean extent of France’s Occitanie region, and is expected to receive $24.7m from the government in the latest Réseau Satt funding settlement.
