Kate Rowley, formerly a director of IP Group with a focus on the healthcare sector, has joined investment firm BioScience Managers.

Kate Rowley (pictured), former investment manager at commercialisation firm IP Group, joined Australia-based investment firm BioScience Managers yesterday as an investment director.
She will be based in the UK and will be responsible for investments in the healthcare sector globally with a specific focus on Europe.
Rowley joined IP Group in 2013, serving as an investment manager responsible for the healthcare sector. She stepped down last month.
During her time with IP Group, she represented the commercialisation firm on the board of directors of five portfolio companies, also taking on secondments as chief executive and in business development roles with portfolio companies.

She has a PhD in molecular virology from University of Reading and an MBA from University of Glasgow.
Rowley said: “I am passionate about nurturing the growth of innovative healthcare companies. I look forward to applying the knowledge and insights I have gained over the last 20 years to growing BioScience Managers’ investment portfolio and, through active support of portfolio companies.
“I am joining BioScience Managers at an exciting time as the firm expands and I look forward to being part of a first-class team of specialist healthcare investors with truly global reach.”
