UAVC has returned to back UA-founded hospitality staffing platform Qwick after investing an undisclosed sum in November 2018.

Qwick, a US-based hospitality recruitment platform founded by a University of Arizona (UA) graduate, has closed an oversubscribed $1.3m round backed by independent UA-focused investment vehicle UAVenture Capital (UAVC).
The round also featured venture capital firm Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, as well as Moving Capital, Desert Angels and XG Ventures.
Founded in 2017, Qwick operates an on-demand recruitment platform for the hospitality industry that enables clients to assign staff to unfulfilled shifts quickly.
Professionals listed on Qwick have been pre-vetted for their competence and are paid within 30 minutes through the platform’s real-time wage calculation system.
The funds will enable Qwick to add five members to its team with a focus on engineering, operations and business development. Qwick expects to begin offering its services in four new markets including San Diego during 2019.
