Qorvo has purchased a portfolio company, radio frequency technology developer Cavendish Kinetics, which was spun out of Cambridge two decades ago.

Cavendish Kinetics, a UK-based radio frequency (RF) technology provider spun out of University of Cambridge, has been acquired by RF equipment producer Qorvo for an undisclosed sum.
Spun out of Cambridge’s Cavenish Laboratory in 1994, Cavendish produces micro-electromechanical systems technology used to enhance antenna tuning in smartphones, improving reception and mobile data rates.
The deal follows at least $68.5m in funding for Cavendish Kinetics, which raised $36m in a 2015 round that included $25m from Qorvo subsidiary…
