Impact investment unit TSEF has appointed Lara Metcalf to direct the investment strategy of its third fund focused on financial, health and human services technologies.

Lara Metcalf (pictured) has departed her role as a fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s The Engine incubator to become managing director of the third fund launched by TSEF, a VC division of impact investment firm Maycomb Capital.
Metcalf will direct the investment strategy of TSEF’s vehicle, which will pursue financial, health and human services technologies that can be applied to the benefit of vulnerable communities.
Concurrently, Metcalf will continue as a board member at investment manager Longfellow Investment Management, a position she started in 2012.
Prior to joining the Engine in February 2018, Metcalf had spent four and a half years with nonprofit impact investment firm Social Finance, taking responsibility for $70m in investments aligned with social objectives including maternal-child health, family stability and reducing recidivism.
