Linnéa Lindau has left her position as chief executive of Chalmers Ventures after four and a half years, with Gunnar Fernström becoming interim CEO.
Linnéa Lindau stepped down as chief executive of Chalmers Ventures, the university venture fund and incubator of Chalmers University of Technology, last month.
Her departure was prompted by the board of Chalmers Ventures, which concluded a change of leadership was appropriate as it started considering its long-term growth plans.
She has been replaced in an interim capacity by Gunnar Fernström as the board launches its search for a permanent replacement.
Lindau noted in a post on LinkedIn that she had mixed feelings but that she was, most of all, humbled for having had the privilege of working with countless entrepreneurs who will change the world, saying they were her “true heroes”.
Lindau, who came 19th in the GUV Powerlist 2018, had led Chalmers Ventures since its inception in September 2015 – though a predecessor unit had existed since 1997 – and during that time helped the portfolio valuation grow from SEK900m to SEK2.7bn ($96m to $289m).
Chalmers Ventures also achieved 29 exits during its first four and a half years.
Sweden-based management magazine Chef had selected Lindau as one of three finalists for its Innovative Leader of the Year award less than two weeks before her departure from Chalmers Ventures and the gala dinner is set to take on March 11.
