Fredrik Järrsten has been named deputy chief executive in addition to his duties as chief financial officer, a position he has held since late 2017.
Fredrik Järrsten, chief financial officer of Karolinska Development, the investment firm set up by Karolinska Institute, has been appointed deputy chief executive officer in addition to his existing duties.
Järrsten joined Karolinska Development in December 2017 as chief financial officer, having previously served as CFO and business development director at Sweden-based medtech developer Bactiguard for three years, during which time he helped lead its IPO on Nasdaq Stockholm
Prior to this, he completed an eight-year stint as director of business development at private healthcare provider Aleris from 2006 to 2014, having been an investment manager with private equity firm Litorina Kapital from 1999.
He worked for investment banks SEB Enskilda and Lazard for much of the 90s, advising clients on M&A deals, fundraising and initial public offerings, after graduating from University of Michigan with a master’s degree in international business.

“Alongside his continuous responsibilities as CFO, Fredrik will now be able to focus even more on strategic development and related areas.”
