Tom Hopkins will perform services he previously provided through consultancy Kin Capital while also helping Parkwalk strengthen its customer service.

Parkwalk Advisors, a fund management division of IP Group, has appointed Tom Hopkins (pictured), who currently provides services to its Opportunities EIS Fund, as its new business development director.
Hopkins will help Parkwalk strengthen its customer service as the firm prepares to launch an online portal for clients including investors and advisers in the first half of 2019.
Hopkins joins Parkwalk from Kin Capital, an investment consultancy he co-founded which provides fundraising services to Opportunities EIS Fund, a vehicle designed to benefit from UK tax breaks. He will continue to provide his services under Parkwalk’s employment.
Hopkins has 13 years of experience in various roles at venture capital firms and has been responsible for private equity deals ranging from early-stage to buyouts.
Prior to setting up Kin Capital, he spent three months at Oxford Capital Partners in 2014 as a consulting and operating partner, after six years at MMC Ventures as a partner.
He said: “I am passionate about growth investing and the UK VC schemes, especially EIS, and the opportunity to go back to the VC ‘coalface’ was too compelling to turn down.
“There is a great team at Parkwalk who I know well having worked alongside them for three and a half years, helping them become the largest growth EIS fund in the market.”
Moray Wright, CEO of Parkwalk Advisors, added: “We are now the largest EIS growth fund manager focused on university spinouts, and the largest by funds raised for the last two tax years.
“And it is important that we ensure our message around strategy, transparency and returns is continually heard in the market which is why Tom has joined the team.”
