College benchmarking system ABC Insights measures, categorises and compares human capital spend at its member institutions on administrative functions such as IT management and communications.

ABC Insights, a US-based college administration benchmarking program with origins at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has been acquired by higher education support services provider HelioCampus for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2014, ABC Insights helps affiliated higher education institutions measure, categorise and benchmark their human capital spend on administrative resources including communications, student support and IT management.
The acquisition is aimed at augmenting HelioCampus’s existing technology and services, boosting its capacity in strategic areas including helping universities make financial decisions and crisis planning for situations such as Covid-19.
ABC Insights does not appear to have disclosed details of equity funding. HelioCampus is itself a university-linked business, having originated from University System of Maryland.
Steven Beisser, president and chief operating officer of ABC Insights, said: “A dedication to improving the financial sustainability of higher education by helping universities be more efficient and effective is in the DNA of both of our organisations and makes us a perfect match.
“By joining the HelioCampus family, we are able to dramatically increase the ways we support universities today through the combination of our complementary services and tomorrow as we work together to develop additional offerings.”
