CWRU's Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship has appointed Michael Goldberg as its inaugural executive director.

Michael Goldberg (pictured) was yesterday named the inaugural executive director of a new entrepreneurship hub at Case Western Reserve University.
Goldberg will helm the Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship at Case Western’s Weatherhead School of Management, intended as an entry point for university programming for entrepreneurs both on-campus and further afield.
His remit includes integrating entrepreneurship into university curricula in consultation with departmental deans while working to foster interdisciplinary projects alongside faculty and staff.
Veale Institute has been launched with support from philanthropic office Veale Foundation, which targets charitable causes such as education, community, social services and healthcare.
Goldberg has been with Case Western since 2009. He started as an adjunct professor in the Department of Banking and Finance before moving across to the Department of Design and Innovation in 2013, serving initially as assistant professor before a promotion to associate professor in June last year.
He was also appointed to the Veale Institute as one of two faculty advisers in the second half of 2019 to assist the new initiative’s interim leadership.
Goldberg is a freelance contributor to business and entrepreneurship magazine Forbes, providing articles focused on inspiring students from an online entrepreneurship course he runs called Beyond Silicon Valley.
He is also co-founder and managing partner of Bridge Investment Fund, a venture capital firm that invests in Israel-based medical device companies.
Goldberg’s other resume highlights include assignments as visiting professor at Polytechnic of Namibia, ALBA Graduate Business School, Bilkent University and National Economics University of Vietnam.
