Adipo, a US-based obesity and type 2 diabetes treatment developer spun out of Purdue University, has raised an undisclosed sum from angel investors David Campbell and Michelle Campbell. The company aims to treat its target indications using an engineered polymeric nanoparticulate system and the Notch signalling pathway to convert energy-storing fat into energy-burning fat. The company was founded by Meng Deng, assistant professor in Purdue’s Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering and School of Materials Engineering.
