Cambricon Technologies, a China-based artificial intelligence chipset developer spun out from Chinese Academy of Sciences, has secured hundreds of millions of dollars in series B funding, China Money Network reported today.

TCL Capital, a fund owned by academic governing body and think tank Chinese Academy of Sciences, took part in the round, which valued Cambricon at $2.5bn.
