Board director David Cairns will leave Frontier IP in August after almost nine years with the company focused on its portfolio investments.

David Cairns (pictured), a board director at commercialisation firm Frontier IP, has tendered his resignation and will part ways with the company on August 27.
Cairns has been a portfolio director for Frontier IP since October 2010.
He was previously the managing director of cybersecurity and digital risk management-focused consultancy Visium Technologies from 2009 until 2015, following a near-15 year tenure as chief technology officer of retinal imaging manufacturer Optos between 1994 and 2009.
Cairns’ resume also includes a founding role at housing developer Sigma Capital and almost seven years as an electronics manager at electronic beam optics firm Leica from 1986 until 1993. He earned his diploma in marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing in 1994, alongside an MBA in strategic marketing at Cranfield University’s School of Management.
Neil Crabb, chief executive of Frontier IP, said: “On behalf of the board I would like to thank David for his contribution to Frontier IP over the years and the important part he has played in the group’s growth and success.
“I would like to wish him all the very best in his future career outside Frontier IP.”
