TusStar-backed semiconductor laser developer Berxel received $14.1m in a round that was led by Vision Knight Capital.

Shenzhen Berxel Technology, a China-based optoelectronic technology producer backed by Tsinghua University’s incubator TusStar, has secured approximately RMB100m ($14.1m) in series A-plus financing, DealStreetAsia reported on Monday.
Private equity fund Vision Knight Capital led the round, which also featured Aplus, a venture capital vehicle for investment manager Hongtai Capital Holdings.
Berxel has developed optoelectronic technology for use in the semiconductor industry, including a vertical-cavity surface-emitting semiconductor laser which converts electric charges into light.
