ANU Connect Ventures has participated in a series B round for Liquid Instruments, which builds on research at Australian National University.

Liquid Instruments, an Australia-based developer of software-defined instrumentation spun out of Australian National University, has raised $13.7m in series B financing from investors including the institution’s ANU Connect Ventures.
The round also attracted Anzu Partners, F1 Solutions and Moelis Australia, which invested through its Growth Capital Fund.
Founded in 2014, Liquid Instruments creates precision software-defined instrumentation that relies on field-programmable gate arrays – integrated circuits that are configured by a client after manufacturing.
Its products, branded Moku, enable customisable tools to control experiments and analyse data.
Saar Gillai, a former senior vice-president (SVP) at HPE Communications and HP Cloud, has been appointed chairman of the board in conjunction with the round. Patti Key, former senior SVP of Sales at Keysight Technologies, has joined the advisory board.
Liquid Instruments previously secured $8.2m in a series A round featuring ANU Connect Ventures in 2019. Anzu Partners led that round, in which ANU took part as an existing shareholder.
