Engineering and 3D design product firm Ansys has bought Cambridge-founded Granta Design and will offer the company's materials information products to its customers.

Granta Design, a UK-based materials information software publisher spun out of University of Cambridge, has been acquired by engineering simulation and 3D design product firm Ansys for an undisclosed sum.
The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2019, when Ansys expects to update the market on the implications for its near-term financial outlook.
