Chicago’s endowment participated in the series A, following a $1.1m seed round last year that included prize money from the Chicago-run New Venture Challenge.

US-based clinical placement directory operator AMOpportunities has obtained $2.2m in a series A round backed by investors including University of Chicago’s endowment and VC firm OCA Ventures.
Fellow VC firms HealthX Ventures and M25 Group joined Wildcat Investments to take part in the round.
Founded in 2013, AMOpportunities operates an online clinical placement aggregator which lets medical trainees arrange short-term rotations at medical schools and teaching hospitals across the US.
Available placements can be browsed alongside information including location, scheduling times, academic affiliation and reviews.
The series A cash will help AMOpportunities build out its software to fit the requirements of new clients including US-based hospitals and foreign medical schools.
