Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad joined Unitus Ventures and Axilor Ventures to supply seed capital to radiology directory 5C Network, which helps hospitals access radiology expertise.

India-based radiology directory 5C Network has received an undisclosed amount of seed funding from investors including Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad’s Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE), VCCircle has reported. Impact investment fund Unitus Ventures and startup accelerator Axilor Ventures also took part in the round. Founded in 2014, 5C Network runs a directory for medical radiologists who specialise in the application of radiation to treat and diagnose disease. It is intended to help doctors, hospitals and diagnostics centres locate a radiologist when their expertise is required. Users can also upload radiology scans to be assessed by a professional remotely through 5C Network’s cloud portal, which uses algorithms to automatically extract data from the images. 5C Network hopes to expand its partner base to more than 1,000 hospital clients and 200 radiologist partners over the next two years. It currently works with 190 hospitals and 97 radiologists and claims to process more than 950 cases each day. The company reached the finals of the Unitus Ventures-run MedPrime Technologies competition in 2015.
